The vision of SWCAHEC is for health to constantly be improving in the region. The mission is to improve quality and accessibility of health-related education and community and public health programming for students, professionals, and community members. SWCAHEC has a special emphasis on serving underserved populations and on promoting collaboration with existing health resources while filling gaps that affect the health of the community.
Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center (SWCAHEC) is a non-profit organization that strives to improve rural health in the eight SW counties of Colorado. SWCAHEC has a strong emphasis on supporting rural primary care and community health, and on developing a pipeline of students who will eventually be our region’s health professionals.

Ms. Schrantz has transformed ISAIAH into one of the most powerful voices in Minnesota around issues of racial and economic justice. ISAIAH has explored the intersection of community organizing, policy and research and has launched powerful partnerships with national policy leaders. Ms. Schrantz will discuss how ISAIAH engages communities to develop solutions to health equity issues, and how other organizations and individuals can become part of such a movement.
