A free training in the administration of Narcan to reverse opioid overdoses. Learn how to save a life, reversing the effects of heroin or prescription opioid overdoses with a short training on the basics of Narcan administration. No prior medical knowledge or skills are required. The training is comprised of a short lecture on the brain science behind opioid overdoses, safety protocol, and an overview of Colorado Good Samaritan Law.

Spring break will be extended by one week and will begin Monday, March 16. This extra week will allow us to transition most courses to remote learning so we can minimize the number of people on campus and practice social distancing with courses that will still need to be held in person. We will begin this new format on Monday, March 30. CCCOnline classes will continue as scheduled. PCC Online students should contact their instructor to see how the class will proceed.

Federal Loan Assistance for Small Businesses
Governor Jared Polis announced today that Colorado small businesses impacted by COVID-19 can now seek individual small business loans up to $2M as part of the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Small businesses throughout all 64 counties may seek SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
Small businesses, private non-profit organizations, small agricultural cooperatives and small aquaculture enterprises impacted by COVID-19 can seek federal loans to pay key needs such as fixed debts, payroll, and accounts payable.

Aurora, Colo. (March 19, 2020) -- The University of Colorado College of Nursing has received a #8 placement for its Nurse-Midwifery program, and a top 10% ranking for its Master’s in Nursing program, according to U.S. News & World Report. The Master’s program was ranked against 578 programs, while the Nurse-Midwifery program was compared 36 programs throughout the country. In addition, the Doctor of Nurse Practitioner program ranked #48 out of 319 programs, placing it in the top 15% of DNP programs. The 2021 rankings were released on March 18. |
The Director of Nurses/Alternate Administrator ensures Comfort Keepers high standards of professional nursing through overseeing medical and non-medical directed services, providing education on health maintenance and disease prevention, and providing case management. The Director of Nurses/Alternate Administrator will travel to client homes within the service area to ensure proper care is being provided, and that procedures and policies are being followed. This position will oversee daily operations and a team of Care Coordinators.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, holds a current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in this state, and has three to five years of nursing experience with at least one year of home health experience and two years in a management or supervisory position. He or she must have a current CPR certification and a copy of an updated TB test results/chest x-ray. In addition, he or she has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and current automobile insurance and fluent English speaking and writing skills.
