Office of Civil Rights (OCR) will exercise its enforcement discretion and will not impose penalties for noncompliance with the regulatory requirements under the HIPAA Rules against covered health care providers in connection with the good faith provision of telehealth during the COVID-19 nationwide public health emergency. Compassion Fatigue and the Behavioral Health Workforce Curriculum Infusion Package. This 5-part Curriculum Infusion Package (CIP) on Compassion Fatigue and the Behavioral Health Workforce was developed in 2020 by the Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center (PSATTC). Part 1 provides a brief overview of the behavioral health workforce and associated shortages, and introduces the demands on the workforce. Part 2 focuses on compassion fatigue and secondary traumatic stress. Part 3 provides a brief overview of how organizations can help individuals avoid experiencing burnout. Part 4 focuses on actions that behavioral health professionals can take to prevent compassion fatigue. Part 5 focuses on self-care as an ethical duty in order to manage compassion fatigue.

Federal Loan Assistance for Small Businesses
Governor Jared Polis announced today that Colorado small businesses impacted by COVID-19 can now seek individual small business loans up to $2M as part of the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Small businesses throughout all 64 counties may seek SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
Small businesses, private non-profit organizations, small agricultural cooperatives and small aquaculture enterprises impacted by COVID-19 can seek federal loans to pay key needs such as fixed debts, payroll, and accounts payable.

The Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center (RM-PHTC) is housed within the Center for Public Health Practice at the Colorado School of Public Health. We are one of the 10 Regional Public Health Training Centers designated by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to provide training to professionals addressing public health issues. We serve Region VIII – which includes Colorado, Montana, North and South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
