San Miguel County’s innovation in the availability of county-wide testing has drawn the interest of the nation.

United Biomedical, Inc.
(UBI) has partnered with San Miguel County to test all residents with their COVID-19 antibody test for SARS-CoV-2 virus. The free testing is being administered by the Public Health Department

Mei Hu and Lou Reese, co-founders of UBI’s c19, are residents of San Miguel County.

Medical Professionals for Covid-19 Telehealth Response in Colorado

The Colorado Covid-19 Innovation Response Team has recently been set up by Gov. Polis. In the coming days, this team will be introducing a telehealth/telemedicine service providing support to ~800,000 uninsured and under-served Coloradans. Their goal is to provide health services while reducing strain on our healthcare facilities, leaving hospital beds open to the most severely ill.
They urgently need medical professionals and administrators to donate their time to provide these free telehealth visits. This work will be performed entirely from home, primarily via telephone and/or video calls. Callers will provide their symptoms over the phone, and those who need medical attention will be triaged to a queue for telephone-based care.

What is the difference between telehealth and nurselines?

  • Telehealth is connecting with a doctor through a live-video call. Using telehealth, a doctor can assess you, give you a treatment plan that fits your needs, recommend you for COVID-19 testing if applicable, or prescribe a medication. At this time, there is no vaccine available for COVID-19.
  • Calling a nurseline can give you more information about what to do next. A nurse can help you decide when to contact your doctor or visit a health care facility, understand your medications, or give you more information about preventative care. Learn more...
