Over 7 million people in the United States live with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). To ensure that these individuals receive quality mental health care, providers and caretakers must receive education and training about the unique mental health needs of people living with an IDD.

Please join us for our 3-part series on IDD and Mental Health as we learn about the unique mental health needs of individuals living with IDD. The training series will consist of three one-hour workshops that will provide attendees with an up-to-date understanding of mental health practices for the IDD community, including trauma/post-traumatic stress strategies.

This interactive series offers health care providers and other staff working in health care settings strategies to name, normalize, and validate worries and experiences during this pandemic and beyond. By understanding stress along a continuum, participants will learn how to manage stress and loss, increase capacity to prevent burnout, elevate connectedness and mindfulness, and promote self-efficacy and quality patient care.

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Water Quality Laboratory Supervisor to oversee a laboratory offering compliance and private-party testing of drinking water and wastewater. The position, as assigned, will supervise laboratory staff, act as a technical resource for staff within and outside of the laboratory, perform biological and physical analyses of water and wastewater samples, record and report data, maintain inventory, equipment and information technology, perform billing services and monitor finances, and provide information to the public and regulatory authorities. Members of the environmental health team work closely with partners and the public to protect public health and the environment on behalf of San Juan Basin Public Health and the community. A bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or a related field and three years of water laboratory experience, including one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required. This position oversees the SJBPH Oral Health Project, which includes coordinating school-based and telehealth-based oral health services in the SJBPH catchment area, performing and documenting school-based oral health screenings and preventive dental services, providing age-appropriate dental education to students, and referring for follow up services, as needed. The incumbent participates in community outreach events, dental navigation to support community members in securing a dental home and facilitates a local coalition for oral health care providers to identify and respond to gaps in access to high quality, affordable oral health care services. An associate degree in dental hygiene and one year of related dental hygiene experience is required. Applicants must also have State of Colorado Dental Hygiene and CPR certifications.
