Yesterday the Gov announced a new program called Colorado Jumpstart, which is designed to incentivize people to get back to work. BID has heard from many business sectors about the hardships of finding people to take open positions. The program provides a cash payment from the state’s CARES Act money. If someone who is on unemployment for at least one week from March 28 to May 16 gets full time work by May 29, they can receive $1,600! If they go back to work full time between May 30 and June 26, they can receive $1,200. The incentive is sent in two payments. First half about 4 weeks after starting back to work, and the second half about 8 weeks after going back. To learn more, here is an FAQ for employers and a factsheet about the program. Use this to help fill your openings.
