Bernadette Cuthair Receives the 2022 Dr. Virgilio Licona
Community Health Leadership Award

We are pleased to recognize Bernadette Cuthair, planning director for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (UMUT), with the 2022 Dr. Virgilio Licona Community Health Leadership Award. A seasoned tribal leader with a long-standing career focused on equity and access, Bernadette’s steadfast determination has brought voice, visibility and vision to address inequities experienced by UMUT.
Employed by the UMUT for nearly 30 years, Bernadette has served her community through progressive upward roles and responsibilities deeply linked to her personal – and professional – commitment to advancing equity for the entire UMUT community. Between 2009 and 2022, she managed more than $108 million in community health and economic development projects including water; wastewater; food sovereignty; housing improvements; as well as expanding health care facilities, broadband, telehealth and distance learning. Earn a health care credential at no cost

Through 2024, students who enroll in one of the following short-term health care certificate programs at PCC will have their tuition, fees and material costs covered by the new Care Forward Colorado program: certified nursing assistant, emergency medical technician, phlebotomy technician, pharmacy technician and medical assistant.
Care Forward Colorado was created to help build up the state’s health care workforce while offering Coloradans an affordable way to begin an in-demand career that pays well.

Rheumatology in Primary Care 
Case Review

Rheumatology in Primary Care Case Review is a new, monthly, free, drop-in opportunity designed for Colorado-based primary care providers (MD, DO, NP, PA) to discuss rheumatology topics of their choice and receive feedback from a rheumatology specialist.

This ongoing series will allow participants to share de-identified cases, including de-identified patient imaging, and ask questions for peer-to-peer and specialist consultation to support one another in patient diagnosis
and management.

This 10-week course uses highly interactive activities to build your capacity to facilitate meetings and coalitions that are efficient, effective, and lead to results.

To be a more effective and efficient facilitator, we’ll help you first understand your own facilitation style. Learn how to anticipate, prevent and intervene in difficult situations to keep the group from derailing and halting progress. Explore structured strategies you can use to generate ideas, evaluate and select ideas, and make a group decision. You’ll learn to help a group meet its goals and take ownership of the process.

Autism: Core Concepts for Primary Care Part 1


Supports providers in the screening, diagnosis and management of patients with an autism spectrum disorder and related developmental delays. See below for topics covered. Resources and referral information will be shared throughout the series.

Sessions include a brief didactic presentation by an expert and discussion of participant-submitted cases. Participants are highly encouraged to submit de-identified patient cases for group discussion and expert consultation.
