Public Health of Boulder County is Hiring a Harm Reduction Manager

Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) holds a non-punitive stance on drug use, recognizing that the value of an individual is not diminished by their substance use. A harm reduction approach is both a set of strategies to minimize the negative impacts of drug use and a movement for social justice built on a belief in and respect for the rights of people who use drugs. Under minimal supervision from the Communicable Disease and Emergency Management (CDEM) Division Manager, this position serves in a leadership role to reduce morbidity, mortality, and other harms associated with substance use in Boulder County.

The position oversees three program areas, including syringe access services, early intervention services, and community engagement initiatives to address opioid and other substance use across systems. Together with the CDEM Leadership Team, the position works to maintain a high-functioning division, identify innovative strategies, and implement new solutions to help improve public health outcomes. The position is responsible for the direct supervision of as-signed staff and serves as a member of the division and agency leadership teams.
Work hours are Monday- Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm, flexibility required for some nights and weekends. This position will work remotely the majority of the time. Under FSLA guidelines this position is exempt.
Hiring Salary Range: $59,604.00 - $72,720.00 Annually
Classification Salary Range: $59,604.00 - $85,836.00 Annually
