On May 8th, a Nightingale luncheon was held at the Cortez Conference Center to honor SWCAHEC's Award Nominees to thank them for their excellence in nursing. Julia Hanson of Pueblo Community College received this year's $1000 scholarship award.

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Health Equity Coordinator to implement the health equity work of the Equity in Emergency Preparedness (EEP) project, including overseeing the implementation of project activities and coordination with external partner agencies. EEP will ensure that all people living in Archuleta and La Plata counties have equitable opportunities to prepare for and respond to health events, natural disasters, and man-made emergencies, irrespective of socio-economic attainment, primary language spoken, or disability status. Collaborating with traditionally underrepresented and under-served populations to create resilient, connected communities will support population health and prevent future exacerbation of poor health outcomes stemming from emergencies. Bilingual English-Spanish and an associate’s degree and two years of healthcare, public health, or related experience is preferred. The pay range for this position is $17.80 to $25.81 an hour plus benefits. Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum. The Program Manager provides leadership, direct supervision, & case management guidance to a dynamic team of Care Coordinators & Nurse Navigators, who are working to assist the community with accessing healthcare resources. This position is also responsible for the management of a variety of contracts and grants that are aimed towards community health & resource access. Essential duties of the position are administrative oversight and management of staff & budgets, implementation and monitoring of program deliverables and maintaining community partnerships. Experience in personnel management, direct case management, community resources and health care systems is preferred as well as experience in maternal or child health, public health, or mental health. Bachelor’s degree in human services related field, and 5 years related work experience is required. The pay range for this position is $29.10 to $43.66 an hour plus benefits. Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum. The Dental Practice Supervisor will be the lead in managing and implementing TCHNetwork’s mobile dental programs and providing direct patient care. Duties include providing dental hygiene services in nontraditional locations; managing our dental hygiene team; developing relationships with stakeholders; promoting the program; developing program operations and ensuring program efficiency.

We are 1 of only 5 organizations in Colorado offering virtual dental home services. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of and help us grow a cutting edge program!

In order to qualify for the position, the candidate must be a Colorado-licensed dental hygienist. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping achieve health equity for all and for breaking down barriers to ensure access to high quality dental care, an independent worker, comfortable with mobile dental equipment and have a desire to work in public health. He/she/they must also have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation in order to travel across our four-county region.
