Correction from last week's announcement
Congratulations to SWCAHEC's Award WINNERS (not nominees).

The 2019 regional Nightingale Luminary and Star Nursing awards ceremony honored the winners at a luncheon at the Cortez Conference Center on May 8th and celebrated the area nurses who displayed excellence in their practices over the last year.

Three Southwest Colorado Nightingale Luminary winners received regional recognition during the May 8 event. Regional winners included: Kathleen McInnis, for innovation as a nurse administrator; Emily McGough for innovation as a nurse in clinical practice; and Amanda Gilliland for leadership as a nurse in clinical practice. Stacy Wacker received the STAR Award, and nursing student at Pueblo Community College, SW, Julia Hanson, was nominated by her peers for leadership receiving the $1000 nursing scholarship.

On May 12th, two of the three Luminary winners, McInnis and McGough, attended the statewide Nightingale Luminary Awards Gala (AKA "The Oscars of Nursing in Colorado") where only twelve were chosen for the Nightingale Award and given a bronze statue of Florence Nightingale.

Congratulations!
