Kate Hartzell has joined Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center as the new Executive Director.

Kate Hartzell MA, MAT, MPH brings a wealth of knowledge in anthropology, education, and public health and is committed to the development and support of health professionals who meet the unique health needs of Southwestern Colorado.

Her career spans the public health spectrum including women’s reproductive health, maternal & child mortality, the creation of public health education programs, the creation & dissemination of public health information, and instructional strategies for diverse student populations. Kate, most recently taught courses in Public Health at Diné College, the tribal college of the Navajo Nation, and created the new Bachelor’s in Science degree program in Public Health. Welcome Kate!

Also a big THANK YOU to our Interim Executive Director Jodee Powers for stepping in and leading the team over the last few months. Your ability to grasp the organizational structure so quickly, onboard new members, and manage a big event has set the organization up for great success.

The Nurse shall meet the following requirements:
  • BS Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current license and certification required by the State of Colorado to practice as a Registered Nurse and Colorado Department of Education School Nurse; Certification upon employment or within 12 months of employment if new graduate or
  • A registered nurse who completed RN training in an associate degree program and must be enrolled in an approved BSN program and provide evidence of continuing enrollment in the program which will meet the requirements for a school nurse and must complete the program within three years. While in the BSN program you must obtain a TEE authorization through the Colorado Department of Education under the supervision of a Colorado professionally licensed person in the same discipline
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and knowledge of AED use
  • Maintain and enhance a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure

CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER:
The primary emphasis of this role is on providing leadership to employees and ensuring a high standard of excellence and client satisfaction. This position is responsible for the smooth operation of designated region,which will include Ignacio, Durango and North NM. The Dental Practice Supervisor will be the lead in managing and implementing TCHNetwork’s mobile dental programs and providing direct patient care. Duties include providing dental hygiene services in nontraditional locations; managing our dental hygiene team; developing relationships with stakeholders; promoting the program; developing program operations and ensuring program efficiency.

In order to qualify for the position, the candidate must be a Colorado-licensed dental hygienist.
