This year 14.5 million people will have a stroke,
5.5 million people will die as a result.

The main symptoms of stroke can be remembered
and checked with the word FAST.

Face – is the face drooping to one one side

Arms – is there a weakness in one arm

Speech – is speech slurred or garbled

Time – if these symptoms are present it is time to call emergency services

Fiscal Year 2020 Application Due Date: January 24, 2020

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2020 Primary Care Training and Enhancement: Residency Training in Primary Care (PCTE-RTPC) Program. The application cycle closes on January 24, 2020.
The PCTE-RTPC Program provides funding to enhance accredited residency training programs in family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics or combined internal medicine and pediatrics in rural and/or underserved areas, and encourage program graduates to choose primary care careers in these areas.
Eligible entities include accredited public or nonprofit private hospitals, schools of allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine, or a public or private non-profit entity determined capable of carrying out a residency training program in family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics or combined internal medicine and pediatrics, which for the purposes of this program are those accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
HRSA expects approximately $10 million to be available to fund up to 20 eligible grantees.
