Yá'át'ééh! (Hello) My name is Tilton Dennison and I'm a member of the Diné (Navajo) Nation. I am from an area known as Chíí Deezáhí, which is located 5 and 1/2 miles northeast of Aneth, Utah.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Diné College, and currently work with TRIO Talent Search as an Academic Advisor and also with SWCAHEC as a Healthcare Pipeline Associate.
When I'm not working, I enjoy doing artwork (feather work/bead work), hiking, and traveling with my wife Caitlyn and my two beautiful girls.

SWCAHEC offers a FREE program for students enrolled in health professions programs who are interested in learning more about rural or underserved healthcare populations. The program requires 40 hours of online modules (self-paced) that span across topics such as interprofessional education, practice transformation, behavioral health integration, health equity and current issues such as COVID 19.
|
|
|
These modules come primarily from University of Colorado and Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center. The program also requires 40 hours of experiential learning which can be counted from their existing program internship, practicum or clinical hours. Students can sign up for 1 or 2 year participation depending on where they are in their program. We also facilitate a monthly collaborative meeting for students to network and often have local speakers from healthcare or social service organizations. This nationally recognized program is a great addition for employment or nursing or graduate school applications.

AHEC Scholars is a national program, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, that prepares students to serve rural and other medically underserved populations.

Vaccine Clinics Now Offering Booster Shots Booster shots are now available locally for all three vaccine types for those who are eligible. People who originally received the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are eligible for a booster of any vaccine type if they are 65 years of age or older, a high risk worker, living or working in an institutional setting, or are 18 years of age or older with an underlying health condition. These individuals must be at least six months from the completion of their two-dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccine series. People who originally received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster of any vaccine type if they are 18 years of age or older. These individuals must be at least two months from the completion of their one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Go to SJBPublicHealth.org/vaccinations to schedule your appointment. Kids age 5 to 11 are expected to be next in line for the vaccine.

San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) is hiring a part time Facilities Technician to oversee the agency's fleet vehicles by providing maintenance, scheduling service and repairs, transporting vehicles for service, overseeing and maintaining fleet calendars, reconciling mileage logs and conducting basic reporting. The position will complete building maintenance, basic repairs, and minimal custodial duties. The basic building maintenance work includes, but is not limited to, installing light bulbs, furniture set-up and repair, room arrangement, basic plumbing, painting, snow/ice removal and general grounds maintenance activities. San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) is hiring a Communications Director to oversee the Office of Communications. The Communications Director serves as the lead Public Information Officer managing press relations for the agency. This position crafts and distributes external communications messages (public service announcements, media releases, etc.) as needed, and works with community partners to create external messaging. The Communications Director establishes and implements the annual strategic health communications and marketing plan for SJBPH programming and activities with an emphasis on building the SJBPH brand, and increasing awareness and engagement with SJBPH programs. The position oversees the preparation of the annual report. The Communications Director oversees and manages Communications staff and leads the strategy and development of digital content for the SJBPH website, social media platforms, mass email distributions, various online mediums and traditional print communications.
