Welcome Imo Succo to the SWCAHEC Team

Imo Succo-800x654
Imo has joined SWCAHEC as our new Regional Health Coordinator. She is a member of the Navajo Nation tribe, born and raised in New Mexico on the Navajo reservation. She relocated to Durango, Colorado in 2015, after nine years working for the Navajo Nation Department of Law Enforcement. Imo earned a degree in Anthropology from Fort Lewis College in 2017 and a Master of Social Work degree from University of Denver GSSW.

During her social work education, she interned with SEPT 4 the Children, Axis Health, the Regional Crisis Response Team and a mental health outpatient facility where she gained experience and insight into court ordered parent supervision, the regional crisis response team operations, case management, individual therapy and group therapy for a co-occurring disorder treatment program as well as administrative processes that contribute to all aspects of healthcare.

She has three children, enjoys cooking, baking and recently discovered that hiking is something she should have got involved years ago. Her experience in internship and public safety has given her the advantage of working with individuals in complicated situations. She remains interested in social work and working with community organizations that aid under-served populations and beyond and hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the regional health connector position. She can be reached at [email protected].
