What Health Care Providers Need to Know

Syphilis is an urgent health crisis in the United States. Rates of syphilis, including congenital syphilis, have risen dramatically over the past decade. Colorado experienced a 144% increase in the rate of primary and secondary syphilis, the most infectious stages of infection, from 2016 to 2020. The good news is that syphilis is easy to treat when detected. Help address the urgent threat of syphilis by joining us as we explore national and Colorado surveillance trends, diagnosing and staging infection, up-to-date CDC screening and treatment recommendations, complex cases, preventing maternal and congenital syphilis, accessing CDPHE resources, and more.

Intended audience: clinicians and other staff in internal medicine, family practice, Ob/Gyn, perinatology, pediatrics and adolescent medicine, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, dermatology, public health, substance use treatment, and more.
