SJBPH IS CLOSING ON DECEMBER 31, 2023

In 2022, the La Plata and Archuleta county boards of county commissioners approved the planned closure of San Juan Basin Public Health by December 31, 2023. Each county is in the process of establishing individual public health departments to serve their communities beginning

January 1, 2024.

Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center (RM-PHTC) will award 27 students in higher education $3,500 in financial support to assist with public health focused field placements and faculty-student collaborative projects.

The goal of this program is to increase the supply and diversity of the public health workforce in the Rocky Mountain Region, specifically in underserved communities and populations by supporting students conducting applied public health projects and providing opportunities for mentoring and professional development. This program is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Director of Evaluation & Learning

The director of evaluation & learning will lead the effort to assess the impact of the foundation’s grantmaking. This person will communicate effectively across the foundation with dependable and accurate data to inform programmatic decision-making. The director of evaluation & learning will be responsible for providing accessible and actionable data, and facilitate the use of these data and results. The director of evaluation & learning will also position the foundation to be agile and learn quickly from results and use those to inform future grantmaking decisions. Although this person will be an active team member in the Grants & Impact Department and contribute to the creation of future funding initiatives, they must maintain the independence and objectivity required in evaluations. The director of evaluation & learning will foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and professionalism as an important partner with other department leads. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but priority consideration will be given to those received by 5 p.m. MST on Nov. 30, 2023.
