Welcome to the SWCAHEC Team!

My name is Tehani Waahila, a Health Equity training and programs Associate at the Southwestern Colorado Area Health and Education Center (SWCAHEC). Born and raised on the vibrant Big Island of Hawaii, my journey led me to Durango, Colorado, where I pursued a Business Administration degree at Fort Lewis College.

Though my academic background is in business, my heart found its true calling in the field of public health. Eager to align my passion with purpose, I discovered SWCAHEC, a beacon of healthcare and education excellence. The team took me in with open arms, and I couldn't be more grateful.

My goal is to not only support the growth of this remarkable organization but also to be a dedicated ally for the 4 Corners region. I am excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, fostering health equity and creating positive change. Together with the exceptional team at SWCAHEC, I am dedicated to advancing the well-being of our community and beyond.
