Training in Patient Navigation with Cancer Support Community Southwest!
Cancer Support Community Southwest Colorado is offering a digital patient navigation training. Using a national program called the Digital Sherpa™ program for the Patient Empowerment Network, this training aims to help cancer patients and their families become more tech-savvy. The program educates patients in basic internet and social media skills to empower them to become more knowledgeable and proactive in managing their disease. Cancer Support Community Southwest is implementing this program in-person, via a 4-hour workshop.

This series is designed to support interventionists (speech/language, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists and other mental health providers, early intervention providers, preschool teachers and other providers) working with young children (birth through kindergarten) with diagnosis or profiles consistent with autism spectrum disorder. We will discuss strategies from Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI) such as the Early Start Denver Model and others, plan for the intentional use of these strategies in practice and work through difficult situations. Significant focus will be on supporting families to use these strategies in their daily lives.

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention: Improving Blood Lead Testing and Reporting in Colorado’s Children is a new ECHO series designed to increase blood lead testing and reporting rates of providers across Colorado. This four-session series is designed for primary care providers who serve Medicaid and at-risk patients. Participants will learn about the common sources of lead in Colorado, how to screen patients and care for children with elevated blood lead levels. In addition to didactic teaching, each session offers case study scenarios and in-depth examinations of real-life situations that will be analyzed and discussed.

The senior communications manager works with the vice president of communications and other Communications Department colleagues to implement The Colorado Trust’s communications strategies and tactics. The senior communications manager is responsible for creating and/or managing public-facing Colorado Trust content, including on social media platforms; overseeing the content and editorial calendar for the foundation’s Collective Colorado story website; and providing first-line editorial support (including editing, proofreading and consultation) for all external and internal communications needs, including supporting colleagues in communicating about The Colorado Trust’s grantmaking initiatives. This position will generally work from The Colorado Trust office in Denver at least two days per week and remotely for the remainder. This is a full-time visiting position in the Nutrition program within the Department of Health and Human Performance. A Visiting Professor is responsible for teaching 24 credits hours per academic year.
