Axis Health System Announces the opening of its new integrated healthcare clinic in Durango

Durango, CO – Axis Health System is excited to announce a significant expansion in our ability to improve the health and wellness of our patients and continue to positively influence the quality of life in our communities. Starting February 26th, we will begin transitioning our operations and services to our newly renovated space at the iconic Mercury Building, located at 150 Mercury Village Drive, Durango. We will be bringing together the services and teams from our La Plata Integrated Healthcare Clinic, Columbine Behavioral Healthcare Clinic, and Durango Oral Health Clinic. By having all of our care options under one roof at Durango Integrated Healthcare, we can better serve our existing patients and increase our capacity for new patients, increasing healthcare access and responding to the growth of our community. Autism: Core Concepts for Primary Care Part 2 supports providers in the screening, diagnosis and management of patients with an autism spectrum disorder and related developmental delays. See below for topics covered. Resources and referral information will be shared throughout the series.
Sessions include a brief didactic presentation by an expert and discussion of participant-submitted cases. Participants are highly encouraged to submit de-identified patient cases for group discussion and expert consultation.

“Southwestern Colorado AHEC is providing a livestream of the JJ Cohen Mini Med School sessions at the Commons Building, Suite 219 in Durango, Colorado, for people of all ages! Participants are also given the ZOOM information to join independently.

This series is an overview of essential topics in adolescent reproductive health. The series focuses on the importance of person-centered care when caring for young people. Content of includes taking an adolescent health history, minor consent and confidentiality, sexually transmitted infections, menstrual periods, contraception and strategies for addressing common concerns and side effects of contraceptive methods.


Nurses and other health professionals who work with adolescents and provide care and counseling on reproductive health concerns.
If you are a prescribing provider (NP, PA, CNM, MD, DO) please do not register for this series. The next cohort for prescribing providers will be offered in Fall 2024.

The San Miguel Resource Center’s (SMRC) Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and continued success of the organization: this position reports directly to the Board of Directors, oversees all programs and staff, and manages the annual budget. The ideal candidate will excel in mission fulfillment, leadership, fundraising, and relationship building. The Executive Director will work closely with the board, staff, and volunteers to achieve SMRC’s mission to empower and advocate for individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Executive Director position is full time, based in our Telluride office, has a salary range of $90,000-$100,000 and comes with a comprehensive, 100% employer paid benefits package and excellent PTO (130 hours vacation, 10 holidays and 48 hours of sick time)
