MISSION: TO ENCOURAGE STUDENT LEARNING AND EXPLORATION AND TO PROMOTE INTEREST IN MATH, SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.
The San Juan Basin Regional Science Fair serves students grades six through twelve across Southwest Colorado. Through the science fair program, students learn about the scientific method and use it to complete an experiment of their own design, exploring a topic interesting and engaging to them. We are looking for professional scientists and engineers to spend the day with students, providing feedback and inspiration. It takes nearly 100 volunteers to make this event happen. Please join us!!
62nd Annual San Juan Basin Regional Science Fair Tuesday, February 25, 2020
La Plata County Fairgrounds, Durango, Colorado
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be a great judge at the Regional Science Fair. All that is needed is a basic understanding of science and a willingness to talk with students about their work.
Training is provided to volunteers the day of the fair, as are breakfast and lunch. The students we serve are excited, enthusiastic and hopeful about the future and these feelings spread across the event.
It is a really enjoyable day and a chance to celebrate and encourage our youth!
Judges should be available fair day, February 25, 2020 from 7:30am to approximately 2:30pm. Register online at www.science-swco.org/judges
