COAHEC H.O.P.E. Institute

The COAHEC H.O.P.E. Institute is one of two parts of COAHEC H.O.P.E., where high school students travel to both the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus in July of each year.

Students will live and eat at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus and travel to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus for three days of programming.

The curriculum is developed by COAHEC and delivered by the following staff and faculty of:

• Children’s Hospital of Colorado

• Colorado Area Health Education Center

• University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

• UCHealth System

• University of Colorado Colorado Springs Hbyl Sports Medicine Center

• University of Colorado Colorado Springs College of Nursing, and among additional entities

Learning and activities will include: the Anatomy in Clay® learning system; hands-on workshops; presentations from faculty, staff, and students, from a variety of schools and programs at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus; a cadaver lab experience; and tours of the University of Colorado Anschutz and Colorado Springs campuses. Student will experience community building and a special graduation at the end. Eligibility & How to Apply

To be eligible to participate, students must be under 18 years old in August 2025 and be in grades 10th through 12th; students interested in healthcare or health sciences careers are encouraged to apply. Students who join all sessions of COAHEC H.O.P.E. Program increase their chance of acceptance into COAHEC H.O.P.E. Institute.

Dates for 2025 COAHEC H.O.P.E. Institute have not yet been announced, and registration has not begun. Students enrolled in the COAHEC H.O.P.E. Program will directly receive information about registration.
