Clinical Rotations
SWCAHEC coordinates the clinical rotations program for health professions students completing rural rotations from the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus. SWCAHEC recruits and supports preceptors from all health professions across the region who are interested in teaching health profession students during rural rotations. SWCAHEC also facilitates community-based service learning opportunities and arranges host or leased housing for all students. Fill out the Student Rotation Assessment form.

SWCAHEC coordinates host housing for health professional students in the Southwestern Colorado towns of: Durango, Pagosa Springs, Cortez, Telluride, Mancos, Lake City, and Norwood. We have many residents who generously open their homes to students during their rotations in the area and every effort is made to provide students with a positive environment. Our office is located in downtown, historic Durango. If you are nearby, feel free to stop in and say hello!
Each southwest town is unique and offers many attractions during free time. The area provides opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, and more!
