Pathway to a Career in Nursing
SWCAHEC provides pipeline programs that introduce students to a variety of healthcare career options, connects them with training resources and helps support them in their chosen path.
Nurses care for the health of patients and contribute to the health of communities. Nurses perform physical exams, administer medications, provide health education and much more. Some nurses work in hospitals, while others work in schools or public health departments. The role of a nurse can vary from providing direct patient care to program management or hospital administration. There are many ways to enter the field of nursing that include different educational requirements and costs associated with completing those certificate or degree programs.
